In The Heights Cabin Guide
Welcome to ‘In The Heights’ in Morganton!
HOUSE RULES
ALL TRASH MUST BE BAGGED. Un-bagged trash will not be hauled away because the trash servicer requires bagged trash only in the cans. Trash service comes once a week each Tuesday. You will find the trash cans at the bottom end of the retaining wall. Please replace the lids on the cans each night.
NO PETS. We market this property as such, and we have family members that are allergic to animal dander.
NO PARTIES PLEASE. We have very sweet neighbors and we are still friends, so help us to keep it that way! Please keep the parking on our property off the street. There is comfortable space for up to three vehicles in front of the cabin. No loud noise after 10pm please! You are in the woods, but noise carries. Keep music and conversation at reasonable levels.
PLUMBING EMERGENCIES SUCK. I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but please don’t put anything but toilet paper down the drains.
NO DRUGS OR ILLICIT ACTIVITY are allowed on the property. No smoking in the house, but smoking is welcome on decks and outside. Please don’t throw cigarette butts in the yard.
THIS PROPERTY IS NOT BABY/CHILDPROOF. Children of all ages are welcome, but it is the guardian’s responsibility to read through the warnings listed; watch, maintain control, and keep children safe at all times under the guardian’s supervision. By reserving this property, guests/renters agree that the whole party understands these rules and all will adhere to these rules.
NO SHOOTING of Fireworks on Property. No Shooting of Firearms or Weapons on the Property.
PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL FIRES ARE OUT before going to bed or leaving the property. Guests are prohibited from moving the logs on the indoor gas fireplaces.
WIFI
| NETWORK: | 410hemptown |
| PASSWORD: | grandvista1 |
| SPEED: | 25mbps |
You will notice throughout the cabin we have placed these little white round things with a light in them in the corners of the room. That is the Google mesh wifi network that spreads wireless throughout the cabin, so you can get strong signal everywhere. Please do not unplug them!
THERMOSTAT
In the Heights utilizes one Ecobee thermostat. Just touch the screen to change the temperature. You can also change the mode from heat to cool, or vice versa. For more detailed instructions, click here. You may notice when you first arrive that the temperature is above or below normal, because is set to away mode. Not to worry, as you open the door, it senses you are home and will automatically heat/cool to the desired range. Because we have just one thermostat for three floors, you can expect the basement floor to be cooler and the top floor to be warmer than your setting. Keeping the loft fan on will help dissipate the warm air upstairs.
LIVE TV/LOCAL CHANNELS
The cabin is equipped with 4 ROKU Smart TVs. LIVE and LOCAL channels are provided through DirecTV Stream. Look for the DirecTV Stream Icon on the homescreen TV for access to 84+ channels. You can also stream your favorite content directly from these TVs with your favorite services including Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, Prime Video, HULU, YouTube TV, and just about anything else. For a full list of TV apps, click here.

Nervous because you don’t see a bulky Cable/Direct TV box in every room? How are you going to get live/local channels? Don’t worry! We pay for DirecTV’s Choice Package that carries 84+ channels, including local content via internet streaming. Look for the DirecTV icon on the home screen of the TV. For the DirecTV channel list, click here.
HOTTUB
The Hot Spot Spa is ready to go. Always replace the cover to keep animals and other things out of the hot tub, and to keep the temperature up. Do not sit or stand on the cover. HOT TUB USE IS AT THE GUESTS OWN RISK. NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 IS PERMITTED IN THE HOT TUB WITHOUT DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A RESPONSIBLE ADULT.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL – To increase the temp, press the plus (+) button once for each degree. To decrease, press the minus (-) button. If the word “LOCK” appears, that means the temperature is locked. To fix this, visit this online guide and follow the directions: Display Unlock Guide

GRILL
This grill is propane. To operate, first turn on the timer to the right of the grill, mounted on the handrail. No gas will enter the grill unless the timer is turned on. Please do not use charcoal in the grill. NOTE – charcoal grills are not permitted for use on our property. Please empty the drip tray after use.
FIREPLACE
The Gas fireplace can be lit by choosing a time from the timer switch next to the thermostat.
Never burn anything in the fireplace. It is unsafe and will ruin the fireplace. No marshmallows, hotdogs, etc. Please do not move/restack the gas logs.
The fire will automatically go out after the timer runs out. If you press the timer, and the fireplace doesn’t come on in about 5 seconds, the pilot light might be out. That will happen sometimes when people leave the doors open. If you would like instructions on how to re-light the pilot, text us at 770.652.6996 and we will assist.
FIREPIT
NEVER LEAVE A BURNING OR SMOLDERING FIRE UNATTENDED. No lighter fluid is allowed. Guests will need to bring their own wood (several spots nearby sell firewood at the side of the road). Please remove all trash from the firepit area, as our cleaning crew does not monitor this area.
ALARM SYSTEM
There should be no need to access the alarm system during your stay.
