THERMOSTAT

Highland Haven utilizes Nest Smart Thermostats. Nest Thermostats don’t have a touch screen. Use the touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat. Swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm.  For more detailed instructions, click here. You may notice when you first arrive that the temperature is above or below normal, because is set to away mode. Not to worry, as you open the door, it senses you are home and will automatically heat/cool to the desired range. Even though we have thermostats on each floor, because of the open concept connecting the main floor and the upper floors you can expect the basement to be cooler and the top floor to be warmer than your setting.

GRILL

The propane grill outside is hooked up to the house propane line, and does not need a propane tank to operate.

TO LIGHT THE GRILL – first make sure that all burner valves are in the off position. Then, switch on the propane line where it comes through the deck on the bottom right side, so that the valve handle is inline with the propane line. Then turn the far left knob to the 9 o-clock position (black circle with a lightning bolt), then press the ignite button above the knob and hold down until it lights up. Then you can turn on the remaining burners.

WHEN YOU ARE DONE – please turn off the burners as well as the gas below. Also please empty the grease from the bottom tray below the grill when it cools off. NOTE – Please do not pour grease down the drains, as it will clog our septic system.

FIREPLACE

The Gas fireplace can be lit by choosing a time from the timer switch on the wall to the left of the fireplace. It will automatically go out after the timer runs out. If you press one of the timed option buttons, and the fireplace doesn’t come on in about 5 seconds, the pilot light might be out. That will happen sometimes when people leave the doors open. If you would like instructions on how to re-light the pilot, text us at 770.652.6996 and we will assist.
