Lea & Brian’s Favorite Things in Panama City Beach

Beach vacations for me as a child always meant a trip to Georgia’s Jekyll Island. My parents went there every year in the summer, like clockwork. It was cool I guess…a beach is a beach right? Well, then grew up and married my lovely wife Lea and we decided to try the Gulf of Mexico for a vacation. Lea rented us a place through VRBO (which also happened to be our first experience with vacation rentals) and found a little condo in Destin that looked cool. The first thing I noticed on arrival was that there was no repulsive, sulfuric paper-mill smell like I remembered in Georgia, which I had assumed as a child was part of any beach vacation. What really blew me away was the crystal clear blue water, which I thought only existed in the Caribbean (Jekyll Island water was murky brown to me). Eventually we bought a place in Panama City and we’re loving it!
